USA Roots Reggae Dub Expo 2010

The Sound System tradition originated in the yards of Jamaica and spread abroad to the UK. The Expo will showcase Rastafari Roots and Dub Sound System culture. Sound System culture thrives in the UK with heavy sounds like Jah Shaka, Aba Shanti, and King Earthquake. These UK sounds serve as an inspiration with uncompromising militancy and livication to Haile Selassie I. The sound systems participating in the Expo hold firm to traditional sound system culture. They build their own sound systems and are livicated to roots music – both old and new. These events are open to all, and will showcase Rastafari word, sound and power. The mission is to expose authentic Sound System culture to the USA, glorify Haile Selassie I, and strengthen the roots community in the USA.

There will be 2 initial events held in the Summer of 2010.

The first event will be the ‘East Coast’ version of the Expo, and will be held in Baltimore, MD
August 14th 2010 from 5pm – 5am

The second event will be the ‘West Coast’ version of the expo, and will be held in San Diego, CA
September 18th 2010 from 9pm – 5am at:
Mainline Bldg.
